Microcontroller programming — your code in the real world

From a traffic light, through sensors, to your own SMARS robot. On this path your child programs real electronics — not just characters on a screen.

The programme — what you'll build

No theory for theory's sake. This path's programme is a list of projects of increasing difficulty — each one ends with something you can show.

Stage 1 · Start

A traffic light

Your first program that controls real LEDs: red, yellow, green. You understand how code turns into light.

Stage 2 · Middle

Sensors — your program starts to “feel”

You connect motion, light and distance sensors. Your device reacts to the world: it switches on, measures, warns.

Stage 3 · Advanced

Your own SMARS robot

You build and program a SMARS robot: it drives, avoids obstacles and obeys your code. We 3D-print the parts and ship them to you.

How is this different from other ways of learning?

Vs. IT classes at school

At school, programming often ends at the screen. Here, code controls real electronics — an LED lights up, a motor spins, a robot drives around the room.

Vs. internet tutorials

In electronics, one loose wire can stall a whole project. A 1-on-1 mentor sees your child’s circuit and helps find the cause — instead of frustration, they learn debugging.

Vs. group courses

In a group, the robot gets built “for show”, often by the instructor’s hands. Here your child assembles and programs their own robot — and truly understands it.

What does this path develop?

Microcontroller programming develops logical thinking, patience and rigour: a program only works when every step is thought through. Your child learns to hunt for the cause of an error instead of being discouraged by it — a competence for life, not just for code.
